Today newsreader Alex Cullen is heartbroken as he may miss the birth of his third child due to Sydney's Covid-19 restrictions By Monique Friedlander For Daily Mail Australia Published: 01:28 BST, 6 July 2021 | Updated: 01:31 BST, 6 July 2021 Viewcomments Today newsreader Alex Cullen has shared his dismay after learning he may be forced to miss the birth of his third child due to Sydney's Covid-19 lockdown. Due to new restrictions placed upon hospitals in greater Sydney, visitors wanting to witness the birth of a child must be given special permission. However, the rules could soon become even stricter if the city's outbreak is not contained. Describing his plight on Tuesday's show, heartbroken Alex, 40, admitted his wife Bonnie Campbell was struggling to cope with the reality of giving birth during a pandemic. 'My wife was told some very difficult home truths about birth, her birth coming up. She's about to give birth in a few weeks time,' the father-of-two lamented. Alex also complained that his two-year-old twin daughters Audrey and Evie may also miss the opportunity to visit their mother in hospital.
