Lost pictures of David Bowie from his 1969 self-titled album have been re-discovered.
In images obtained by MailOnline on Tuesday, the late Heroes hitmaker was seen posing for portraits that were taken for his second album's artwork by photographer Vernon Dewhurst.
One of the outtakes saw David go shirtless as he stared into the camera with a stoic expression, his brunet locks styled into a mess of curls.

A second image took on a more psychedelic turn as it appeared the singer was photographed through a glass as his image was blurred around the edges.
The picture that was eventually used for the cover was then superimposed on top of artwork by Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely.
Bowie's second album is commonly known as Space Oddity for its single of the same name, which is featured on the record and was the singer's first commercial hit.
The album was reissued in 1972 under the name Space Oddity following the success of his fifth album
