Their hit song Whole Again has shot back to the top of the charts 20 years after its original release after they recording a special version for Euro 2020

And Atomic Kitten have reflected on performing as a trio again for the first time in 15 years, remarking: 'It feels like no time's passed at all!'

The girl band - Natasha Hamilton, 38, Liz McClarnon, 40 and Jenny Frost, 43 - were talking during an appearance on Friday's Loose Women, where they performed the new version of their hit 2000 track, titled Southgate You're The One (Football's Coming Home Again).

Ahead of the performance, the ladies discussed the rising popularity of the song, noting that the hype began back in 2018, the same year that England reached the semi-final of the World cup.

Natasha explained: 'Way back in 2018 myself and Liz started getting sent all these random videos of large groups of men drunk in pubs singing Whole Again, but the Southgate version. And at the time we just thought it was funny and didn't think much more of it.

'And over the past few years, it's been a bit of a slow burner and once the Euros started, that was it! We were inundated with videos.

'But the crowds just got bigger and bigger and bigger with each video and here we are.'

Liz went on to add: 'We did a gig last week and because it was for football fans we thought we'd sing the Southgate version, it'll be funny. Well, it went viral, the video was everywhere.

'Loads of people were saying "please release it, please release it!", so we said "you know what? We'd love to be a part of it, it's really nice, everyone's getting into it."

'So we rang Jen up and said "do you fancy just going to the studio in Ibiza and recording your bit and she went yeah alright!" And we went "alright we'll do the same" and that was it!'

Natasha then interjected: 'That was on Monday by the way', highlighting the fast turnaround of the new release.
