Emmerdale fans were left shocked as menacing Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) brutally murdered Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) on Thursday.

And in spoiler pictures for upcoming scenes, Leanna's grieving dad Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) trashes her memorial on the humpbacked bridge in a fit of anger.

The doctor is overcome with emotion as he breaks down over the loss of his only child, ripping apart the floral tributes that have began to gather at the site of her death.

Upon the shock discovery of Leanna's body, Liam was left struggling to cope and wracked with grief and anger, with Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) trying to keep him calm.

Meanwhile, filled with guilt over what happened to Leanna, her friends Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) decide to come together to start a community memorial.

But upon seeing the tributes, Liam loses it and blames Liv and Jacob for what happened, before going on to ruin their efforts. 

Meanwhile, a devious Meena relishes in the destruction and pain she's caused. 

Fans of the soap were left stunned as following a tussle atop the village's humpbacked bridge, Meena chucked Leanna over the edge, leaving her dead in the river below.

Meena was compelled to kill off Leanna following her discovery that she had murdered before.   

Meena had previously revealed that a friend from her past, Nadine, took her own life.

Yet it was later unearthed that there was more to the story than that - and that Meena was instrumental in Nadine's death. 

Producers for the ITV soap had warned fans that something grizzly was going to take place in the sleepy village.
