With Sydney's Covid outbreak spiralling out of control, a growing number of high-profile Aussies have gotten the jab.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Covid-19 vaccines are effective in preventing people from getting and spreading the virus, and people are less likely to become seriously ill if they do contract the virus.

From comedian Andy Lee to Today host Karl Stefanovic, here's the growing list of celebrities who have rolled up their sleeves so far.

He added: 'Disappointed not to get a lollipop at the end (only negative).'

Example

In a series of posts on Instagram Stories last week, the 39-year-old British rapper - who resides in Brisbane - lashed out at anti-vaxxers after getting his first jab.

'Gonna switch off. Not going to switch off, I'm not going to look at my DMs for a few days, because there's bound to be some anti-vaxxers in there,' he explained.

'"Oh, you can't do that! You can't put all that in ya!" The good thing is, you aren't getting the vaccine, so there's a higher chance of you dying, and then there'll be more supplies left for the rest of us. And by supplies, I mean, you know, Wagyu steak. "Ooh, we can't eat beef!"'
