Kate Ferdinand has revealed she 'narrowly missed' hundreds of fans 'storming the gates' and 'trampling people' at Wembley as she headed to the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.

The former TOWIE star, 30, was in London for the England vs Italy match with her dad and husband Rio Ferdinand's son Lorenz. 

However she took to her Instagram Story on Monday after the game to share a short clip arriving at the stadium just before hundreds on fans jumped barriers and stormed in.

She wrote on the short clip: 'Although we had fun, we narrowly missed 100s of people storming the gates and bashing down trying to get through the turnstiles, trampling people in their way.' 

Kate also shared a sweet selfie in the stands as she watched with her dad and Lorenz, 14, while Rio was commentating on the game.

She wrote in the caption: 'Last night I was lucky enough to go to Wembley with Lorenz & my dad. I've wanted to watch a football match with the boys for so long, it was well worth the wait. We kept ourselves safe & had so much fun.'

English football's biggest night since 1966 was marred by the actions of hooligans storming the stadium in scenes that eye-witnesses described as 'terrifying'.
