SyFy released the twenty second clip and though not much of the plot is shown it was definitely terrifying.
It all begins when the vintage doll is put out for sale at a suburban yard sale and is purchased by a teenager named Jake Webber (played by Zackary Arthur).

Entertainment Weekly released a first look photo of the newest version of the 'Good Guy' doll along with an accompanying interview from franchise creator Don Mancini who has been brought back as showrunner of the series.
He also co-wrote the original film in the movie series, 1988's Child's Play, as well as wrote and directed several of the sequels including 2017's Cult Of Chucky.
After being totally shut out of the 2019's Child's Play film, the creator has returned to write the entire first season and direct the pilot episode as well as executive produce.

Oh no: There are flashes of Chucky wreaking havoc
'The main character is a 14-year-old gay boy who's bullied and sort of lost after the recent death of his mother,' said Mancini.
'He's a young artist [making] sculptures with doll parts. He finds Chucky at a yard sale and buys him, but it turns out that he gets much more than he bargained for.'
There will also be a familiar voice to the franchise as Brad Dourif originally played the serial killer Charles Lee Ray, who was killed and reincarnated in the body of a popular doll, and will be returning to voice the titular character.

Dourif was replaced by The Last Jedi's Mark Hamill for 2019's remake. Following his success in the Star Wars saga, Hamill largely focused on voice acting.
