Les Dennis has enjoyed a diverse and varied career since he started out in showbusiness in the 1970s.

And the 67-year-old actor, comedian and presenter has insisted he has 'no regrets' about where his career path has taken him and he still 'looks forward to every day'.

Speaking to The Mirror, 50 years after his first appearance on television, he said: 'I've no regrets because I am where I am now. And where I am in life right now I'm very happy.'

The Family Fortunes star added: 'Whatever way it's led me here, it's been the right path.'

Les's career first began when he performed in various social clubs in the northwest of England, including his home city of Liverpool.

Before long he joined comedy sketch programme The Russ Abbot Show in 1982 and later struck up a friendship and comedy partnership with impressionist Dustin Gee.

The comedy duo landed their own show, The Laughter Show, but Les was forced to carry solo after his partner's sudden death in 1986.

A year later Les secured the role of presenting Family Fortunes, a role he would continue to fill for an impressive 15 years between 1987 and 2002.

And soon the comedian, who appears to be able to turn his hand to anything, soon ended up popping up on stage in various productions including Chicago, Me and My Girl and is soon to return to the stage for the upcoming Hairspray shows in London.

He has proved he is able to adapt and reinvent himself when his career and personal has taken a turn.

In June 1995 he married Amanda Holden before they temporarily split in 2000 after her affair with Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey was exposed in the press.
