Tom Daley has revealed lockdown changed his perspective on 'what matters most', saying he got to spend a lot more bonding time with his husband and son.
The Olympic diver, 27, is married to American film producer Dustin Lance Black, 47, and the couple share son Robbie, three, who was born via surrogate.
Speaking to Radio Times, the athlete admitted that before becoming a husband and father, he defined himself by how well he did in competitions.

He said: 'I think [lockdown] changed my perspective on what matters most. Especially the things that you have in your life every single day and often take for granted. I got to spend so much bonding time with my family.
'Before getting married and having a kid, I used to define myself by how well I do in a competition. Not any more. I'm a father, I'm a husband, so many more things than just a diver.'
Tom is currently in training ahead of the Tokyo Olympics but said there is 'more to life' than the sport.
He said: 'My biggest achievement and my greatest thing is raising Robbie, just having him and Lance in my life. There is more to life than my diving. But, at the same time, it's been the most important thing in my life. Every athlete wants to win the gold medal; if they tell you different they're lying.'
