The Bachelorette: Katie Thurston runs after Andrew Spencer and asks him to ...

Katie Thurston chased down Andrew Spencer and asked him to return on Monday's episode of The Bachelorette after earlier eliminating him during a rose ceremony .  

The 30-year-old bank marketing manager sent two men packing during the season 17 episode including Andrew, 26, a pro football player from Vienna, Austria.

Andrew left crying but showed up the next day to end their relationship on a high note. He told her he wanted to end things when they both had smiles on their faces. 

He gave Katie a note to read after he left which read 'If you change your mind…I'll be waiting. Love, Andrew.'

Katie ran after Spencer and yelled for him in a lobby at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.

'If there was a way to stay longer, would you want to? You can say no, you can say yes,' Katie told him.

Andrew replied, 'It's tough because it did happen. I feel hurt at this place.'

In a confessional, Andrew said he wanted to say yes but also that 'I want my future wife to choose me and I wasn't chosen. ' 

He said he didn't want to go through it again and be standing at a rose ceremony with Katie not choosing him.

Katie in a confessional said that she was glad that Andrew came back and gave their relationship closure.

'This journey just wasn't for us,' Katie said. 'With every goodbye I'm one step closer to finding my husband.'

When the show started, Katie was excited that she had whittled it down to seven contestants. 

She said she wanted to focus on this week on the tough questions and to find deeper connections with the relationships with the men. 

Before the first one-on-one date card was read, Mike Planeta, 31, a gym owner from Surprise, Arizona, and Brendan Scanzano, 26, a firefighter trainee from Toronto, Canada were hopeful they would get selected for a one-on-one date with Katie. 

The first date card was instead for Greg Grippo, 27, a marketing sales representative from Edison, New Jersey. 

It read 'Greg, Let's see if this can really work…Love, Katie.'

Michael Allio, 36, a business owner from Akron, Ohio, told the camera that he had a lot of questions he still needed Katie's reassurance over.

 'I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of what Greg's got because he is going to get the reassurance. I need that reassurance, too. I have a son. I'm a single father. I take care of my in-laws.'

Katie told the camera that she picked Greg for the one-on-one because 'I really like him.' 

She set up a date for him to show him more about her hometown Seattle. 

Their date amid the coronavirus pandemic included a copy of Pike's Place market, a Seattle landmark, and they practiced shucking oysters, making bouquets and tossing fish to each other. Afterwards, they played football and shared chewing gum.

Greg told her so far that the experience has been a 'rollercoaster' experience for him. He told her that he hasn't introduced someone to his mother in a long time, but that he now felt ready. 

At night, Katie told Greg that she wanted him to feel more confident in what they have. Greg told her that coming into this environment it was hard not to feel insecure. 

Greg said in the past that he had dealt with bullying that has shaped his relationships. He told her that he has had his weak moments but that if they move forward that he was 'really excited to show his family that girl that I'm falling in love with.' 

'I'm so excited about us,' Katie told him. 'I'm so excited about you.'

Katie gave him a rose and said 'I really want to meet your mom.'

She said in a confessional later that it had been a really long time 'if ever' that she met someone that made her feel like Greg.

'This is new,' she said. 'This is something I really haven't felt before…Greg is someone I am really falling in love with.'

Greg said in his confessional that he thought he had 'found the love of his life.'

The date ended with them running out into the rain, arranged as part of the Seattle themed date, and making out.

Back at the house, Andrew and Brendan sat outside in a hot tub and talked about Katie. Andrew said in a confessional that the fact that Katie chose Greg for a second one-on-one was 'a hard pill to swallow.' 

Later the men sat around by the fire waiting for the next date card. When it came it was for a group date for Justin Glaze, 26, an investment sales consultant from Ellicott City, Andrew, Blake Moynes, 30, a wildlife manager, from Tayshia's season, Michael and Brendan. 

'There is an art to love, Love Katie,' the date card said.

That meant that Mike got the one-on-one date. 

Brendan was not happy and went straight to Katie's room. Katie was a bit shocked to see Brendan at his door. Brendan said if he doesn't have a group date with her that he won't have the time to show her how he cared about her. 

Katie told him that she felt a connection with him, but with 'hometown's next week I don't think we can get there in time.' She told him she didn't think it was even right for them to
