And it appears young Aussie singletons can't wait to be a part of Love Island's third season. 

According to The Herald Sun on Wednesday, 48,000 people have expressed interest in applying via the online application form.

The report cited research from Uswitch which tracked online searches for applications for reality shows.

Love Island was the most popular, with Nine's The Block coming in second with an average of 10,560 searches each year.

Meanwhile, the Big Brother reboot attracted 8,000 searches and The Amazing Race had 4,680.
