Channel Nine newsreader Wendy Kingston has officially resigned from her role after 20 years with the network.
The Queensland-based journalist announced the career move on Instagram on Friday, sharing a photograph of herself made-up prior to a news broadcast.
'I have some news to share. I've resigned from the amazing @Channel9,' she began.

After listing her various roles at the network, Wendy, 39, said some of her highlights included 'rolling coverage for six hours when the Chilean miners were pulled to safety.'
She also noted her shifts covering 'the days of live TV during the Queensland flood disaster.'
'I've loved every single minute of my time with Nine and WIN over the past 20 years,' she went on to explain.

Wendy also paid tribute to her colleagues, adding: 'The team - led by Amanda Paterson, Kylie Blucher and Darren Wick - is the best in the business. I'm incredibly grateful.'
While she hasn't confirmed what her next role will be, she is taking a break to spend some quality time with her family, which includes her three children whom she shares from
