The city of Atlanta has officially declared July 22 to be 'Kanye West Day.'
It was among two honors that capped off a busy Thursday for the rapper, 44, who hosted a grand listening party for his 10th studio album Donda at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
After the star-studded event, the Atlanta native got emotional backstage as he was presented with a plaque commemorating the day as his very own, as per TMZ.

The tributes came back after the rapper held a massive listening party for his upcoming studio album, Donda, which is named after his mother
West was also given a second award in honor of his late-mother Donda, which was presented to him by Dr. Kevin James, the President of Morris Brown College, which happens to be the HBCU where Donda taught at for nearly two decades and was Chair of the English Department.
Kanye was visibly moved when he received the heartfelt honors in front of his family and friends, especially the tribute to late-mother. West was extremely close to Donda leading up to her sudden death at 58 in November 2007.
It was determined she died of a hear attack and other post-operative factors that arose from an elective cosmetic surgery in November of that year.
That bond between mother and son was enough for him to name his latest studio after her, which he debuted to the world last night.
