Sam Burgess is set to discuss his highly publicised divorce from ex-wife Phoebe in the upcoming series of SAS: Australia.

On Sunday, Channel Seven unleashed the first bombshell trailer for the new season which focused heavily on the former NRL star, 32 - who said he has 'lost it all' during an intense interrogation.

'I've lost my career, my kids and my marriage. There was a police investigation into me. I turned to drinking, drugs... I've lost it all,' Sam uttered in the clip.

Sam is arguably one of the most well-known faces of this season's new recruits, after hitting headlines numerous times over the past few years.

A year later, he finalised his divorce with Phoebe just before Christmas following five tumultuous years of marriage - leaving them to co-parent their two children, Poppy, four, and Billy, two, together.

Sam hit headlines again in February 2021, after he was found guilty of intimidating Phoebe's father Mitchell Hooke during a heated clash in the aftermath of their messy split 18 months prior.

However, the following month in March, Judge Mark Williams overturned that decision in the New South Wales District Court.

In May 2021, Sam pleaded guilty to three driving charges following a February 22 police traffic stop where he tested positive for cocaine.

He avoided conviction, and was instead slapped with two $581 fines and ordered to complete a traffic offenders program.
