Miranda Lambert shared on Thursday that her 'sweet' Golden Retriever Jessi had died, though no cause of death has been revealed.
The 37-year-old country artist announced her dog's passing with a series of images throughout their 13 1/2 years together, after she rescued she and her brother from the side of the road when they were just six weeks old.
'It's so hard to let them go but the love is worth it,' she said in an emotional tribute post, while reflecting on the first day she became a dog mom.

In her post Miranda shared snaps with her beloved pooch Jessi and her late dog Waylon spanning over a decade, and one snap featured her husband of two years Brendan McLoughlin kissing Jessi.
'Today we had to say goodbye to our sweet Jessi. I got to love her and be her mom for 13 1/2 years,' Lambert began.
'I found her and her brother Waylon on the side of the road in Oklahoma in Jan 2008 in the middle of a sleet storm. They were 6 weeks old. My mom was in the truck with me and we were listening to the "I am Jessi Colter" album. That's how they got their names.
