Dolly Parton empathized with Britney Spears on Thursday during a remote appearance on a special episode of Watch What Happens Live.
The 75-year-old country music legend was the sole guest on the Bravo talk show while promoting her first fragrance Dolly - Scent From Above and host Andy Cohen, 53, relayed the viewer question: 'What is your take on the Free Britney Spears movement and everything going on with Britney?'
'Well, I try to not get involved in other people's business. I think she's a wonderful artist and I think she's a wonderful girl. I only wish her the best,' Parton said.

'And I understand all those crazy things. I went through a lot of that myself through a big lawsuit in my early days with Porter Wagoner trying to get out on my own. So I understand where she's coming from and how she feels so I hope that all turns out the way that it should,' she added.
Wagoner filed a $3 million breach of contract lawsuit against Parton in 1979 that was settled out of court, with Parton later saying, 'It took me a while to pay it off, but he got the first million dollars I ever made.'
Spears, 39, was placed under a conservatorship in 2008 controlled by her 69-year-old father, Jamie Spears, and she accused him last month of guardianship abuse.
The so-called #FreeBritney movement formed online in 2019 after details of Britney's conservatorship emerged and gained support from Cher, Paris Hilton and Parton's godchild Miley Cyrus, 28.

Parton in 1967 was introduced by Wagoner on his television show The Porter Wagoner Show and they were a popular vocal duo from the late 1960s to early 1970s.
She wrote the 1973 country song I Will Always Love You as a farewell to her mentor and former business partner after her decision to leave The Porter Wagoner Show and pursue a solo career.
Wagoner died of lung cancer in October 2007 at age 80 in Nashville with his family and Parton at his side and she later performed a concert at her theme park Dollywood in Wagoner's memory after his death.
