Glowing reviews are starting to come in for Warner Bros.' The Suicide Squad, which is currently at 97%, a much better reception than the 2016 movie Suicide Squad, which earned a 26% rating.
One of the critics, Screen Daily's Tim Grierson, shared his review on Wednesday, adding in a Twitter responses that Suicide Squad writer-director David Ayer, 'should abandon that idea of a director's cut.'
Ayer, 53, took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon, issuing a statement about his unconventional road to filmmaking and blasting the studio cut of Suicide Squad, stating it, 'is not my movie.'

Ayer began his three-page statement by revealing that 'nothing has been handed to me,' and that his father committed suicide when he was just 4 years old, on Christmas Eve.
He went into the foster care system through, 'abuse' and 'chaos' before doing 'hoodrat s**t' in South Los Angeles when he was a kid.
