Hugh Sheridan came out as nonbinary in June, approximately eight months after going public with his now fiancé Kurt Roberts.

And on Sunday, the 36-year-old actor - who 'doesn't label themselves as anything but human' - confirmed that they weren't opposed to falling in love with a female in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.

'I’ve dated both genders. I don’t label myself as anything but human.'

Speaking of their first meeting, Hugh explained that they met Kurt in December 2020 while attending a party at Baz Lurhmann's old house.

'I saw him and really liked him. He knew who I was and thought I was in the too-hard basket, so played a little hard to get,' Hugh laughed.

Hugh told the publication that although they met another 'nice' guy at the party, they decided to meet Kurt for a drink - and the couple have been inseparable since.
