Of all the wild performances at Lollapalooza on Saturday, perhaps none got fans talking more than that of Limp Bizkit's. 

The band's frontman Fred Durst, 50, took the stage with the iconic nineties nu-metal group rocking a full head of silver hair — which many purported was a wig or intentionally bad toupee — and a handlebar mustache. 

The new look sparked a wave of wildly specific comparisons on Twitter, which mentioned everything from a star on the show Undercover Boss to a former 'high school basketball coach who now drinks coffee alone at 6:30 every morning at McDonald's.' 

Durst had first debuted his new look on Instagram last week which drew many head scratches from fans. 

He had purged his Instagram of all images except three with the shaggy silver hairdo and handlebar mustache which left some to think it was all an act having been largely out of the spotlight. 

Continuing to ride that wave, Durst — whose twitter bio reads 'you're confused? classic' — did just that, as he took the stage at Grant Park with his bizarre new look that included red aviators.   

But despite having aged, his performance was full of energy as he danced around the stage in a yellow button down and khaki pants with vans, before engaging with the crowd. 

'Fred Durst looks like he's on Undercover Boss,' one tweet read while some asked if he had entered the 'witness protection program'  

Another user wrote: 'Fred Durst looks like a detective that let a case get the best of him.'
