Brittany Hockley announced plans to freeze her eggs earlier this year.
And it turned out to be perfect timing, as her current boyfriend, professional tennis player Jordan Thompson, isn't ready to have children another 10 years.
On Tuesday, the 33-year-old opened up about taking control of her fertility journey during an episode of her Life Uncut podcast.

The former Bachelor star, who is currently the US with Jordan, said that she had her first meeting about egg freezing last year.
'I did freeze my eggs, and that was a long time coming. I actually went for my consult back in December, and it took me that long to freeze them.'
Brittany, who was single at the time, explained that having fertility expert Dr Cheryl Phua of Genea on her podcast opened her eyes to the procedure and prompted her to get a consultation.
'I always thought I was gonna have four kids, a white picket fence, the two dogs, live on the beach. That's the life I thought.
'I remember getting upset with my sister, crying "it's not for me". Life doesn't want to give me a partner, life doesn't want me to have children,' she said of her heartbreak at the time.

But freezing her eggs helped her realised: 'I was looking at it completely the wrong way.'
