Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively thought it was 'pretty d*mn amazing' that pal Taylor Swift used their daughters' names in the lyrics of her hit single Betty.
'The names are the names of our kids. We trust [Taylor] implicitly. She's very sensitive to any of that stuff,' the 44-year-old actor gushed in a recent "SiriusXM interview.
Ryan and Blake, who wed in 2011, share daughters James, six, Inez, four, and one-year-old Betty, whose name serves as the title of Swift's song.

Prior to Betty's release, Blake and Ryan had not divulged the name of their youngest daughter, who was born in October 2019.
Betty, as well as 15 other tracks featured on the 31-year-old singer's eighth studio album Folklore, premiered in July 2020.
Fans of Taylor were quick to connect the lyrics featuring the names James and Inez to that of the songstress' good pals Blake and Ryan, but many were left to wonder if the songs title alluded to the couple's third daughter.
After months of speculation, Blake and Ryan, eventually, confirmed that Betty is in fact their youngest's first name.

The song tells the story of a teenage boy who regretfully ruined his chances at love with a girl he was unfaithful to.
And although he knows Betty 'has nothing to do with our kids other than our kids' names' being in it, Ryan said that having his daughters immortalized in song is quite 'an honor.'
'We thought it was pretty damn amazing. We still do,' he gushed. 'You know, I still walk down the street and shake my head thinking "I can't believe that happened."
Reynolds went onto reveal that he and Blake 'surprised' James, Inez, and Betty with the track, adding that they had 'no idea' until hearing it for the first time.

'We surprised them with it. Yeah. They didn't know. They had no idea,' he recalled, adding jokingly that he and Blake 'don't tell them anything' because they 'find they're most compliant if you offer them no access to outside information.'
