Reggie Bird has revealed she was in talks with producers to appear on Channel Seven's Big Brother VIP but was cut before the final hurdle.

The 46-year-old was the winner of Big Brother Australia in 2003 and a fan favourite on the reality show.

However, her celebrity wasn't enough to get her over the line, with Reggie telling TV Blackbox on Sunday that she was passed over for 'better talent'.

'Everything happens for a reason. I'm not doing it this year, I was overlooked. They contacted me, didn't want me,' she told the website.

'Seeing what people went in, they've picked and chosen to go on the show… if they do an all-stars my time will shine,' she added.

Channel Seven confirmed the full line-up for Big Brother VIP, ahead of the highly anticipated launch later this year, on Sunday.
