The Love Island contestants could be in for a shock as it's been reported that their parents are set to enter the villa to deliver some home truths.

It was previously expected that the mums and dads would meet their kids' significant others over Zoom amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But it's now been said they they will meet them in the flesh as double-jabbed parents will now descend upon the Mallorcan abode for socially-distanced meetings.

A source told The Sun: 'It's always the most tense day of the series and Millie and Teddy's parents will have seen a lot on TV that their kids don't know about.

'In fact, all of the friends and family will have outsider gossip to tell the cast, so a lot of them should be very nervous - Jake included.'

They added: 'The plan is to fly out the families to Spain if they're double jabbed and happy to travel within the rules. Then there will be a socially-distanced meeting - and there will be fireworks.'

MailOnline have contacted Love Island representatives for comment.

In recent episodes, Faye shocked viewers with an expletive-laden rant at Teddy in which she confronted him over footage of him telling Casa Amor bombshell Clarisse Juliette that he was 'sexually attracted' to her.

Her furious outburst saw her swear 57 times, while the episode attracted a record-breaking 25,000 Ofcom complaints from unhappy viewers.

Meanwhile, despite reconciling with Millie, Liam may still be in hot water with her folks after he cheated on her in Casa Amor with Lillie Hayes.
