Real Housewives of New York alum Dorinda Medley is pulling back the jewel toned curtains of Blue Stone Manor and taking fans deeper inside her rollercoaster life in the new book, Make It Nice.

The 56-year-old discussed her first memoir in an exclusive chat with DailyMailTV and revealed that the hardest part of her past to reflect on was the 2011 death of her husband Richard Medley.

Dorinda opens up in Make It Nice about how she went from her modest beginnings in Great Barrington, Massachusetts to becoming a New York socialite and a Bravolebrity.

'I think one of my famous sayings was, 'Say it, forget it, write it, regret it.' Somehow, here I am writing it.' the reality star joked to DailyMailTV.

'It's a scary thing to put your life out there,' she explained. 'Because once again, just like on reality TV, you're putting yourself out there to be judged both positively and negatively.'

In the bracingly candid memoir, she unveils the not-so-glamorous bumps in the road to her personal, social, and professional ascent.

While Dorinda never shied away from her personal life on the Real Housewives, the book sheds new light on her younger years.

'It's me as a little girl. It's me moving to New York. It's me struggling financially,' she revealed. Adding that she got emotional when she looked back on herself as a younger person and the stages of her life.

'I felt really proud of myself,' Dorinda admitted. 'Sometimes I felt sad for myself.'

The new author said the most difficult part of the process was writing about the death of her second husband, Richard Medley.

'It was the hardest part of the audiobook to do. I just couldn't get through it, and that's not like me,' she revealed. 'I'm usually able to pull my s**t together and get through it.'
