Seven hit a winning formula with The Voice Australia this year, after reportedly splashing out $10million on a panel of superstar coaches.

But one of the show's marquee stars may soon be leaving the franchise, making way for a fan favourite to return, if rumours are to be believed.

British singer Rita Ora, 30, could be set to exit the series in 2022, with former coach Delta Goodrem primed to replace her, reports New Idea.

A source claimed coach Guy Sebastian is lobbying for his longtime friend Delta, 36, to return to the hit singing competition.

The Born to Try star had wanted to join The Voice when it moved from Nine to Seven last year but couldn't due to 'prior commitments', they added.

She now sees an opportunity to come back as Rita is unlikely to return for season 11.

The insider explained: 'Rita could prove to be an issue for Channel Seven. She's no longer in Australia, and [is] enjoying her personal life with a new boyfriend [film director Taika Waititi]. She's happy. Her return is not currently guaranteed.'

They added that with spin-off series The Voice: Generations in the pipeline, Delta's comeback is looking 'inevitable'.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Seven for comment.
