Linda Robson has revealed that she 'hit rock bottom' as her depression worsened during lockdown, and credits returning to work on Loose Women as being her 'saving grace'.

The TV star, 63, spoke candidly about her mental health struggles in a new interview, explaining that they worsened when the UK was plunged into lockdown in March 2020.

Linda admitted: 'During the first couple of weeks of lockdown, I was so depressed.'

She added while speaking to the Daily Star: 'I was stuck indoors, I couldn't go and see my grandchildren. My sister and my niece both had breast cancer and I couldn't even go to see them.'

Relief came for Linda when she was able to return to the Loose Women panel, with the doting mother continuing: 'But then we went back to work on the show five weeks after the first lockdown and that was our saving grace. Loose Women has helped me through some really tough times.'

Describing how much she enjoys going to work 'with her mates' every day, Linda thoughtfully noted that the cast of the popular ITV show have 'such a laugh', adding she hopes the show brings smiles to the faces of people watching at home, too.

Linda has often spoken openly and honestly about her mental health on the show, and will touch upon the subject in more detail during an upcoming episode of Loose Women alongside Frankie Bridge.

Linda has been candid with her mental health struggles in the past, with the star taking a year off from Loose Women in 2019 due to an alcohol induced meltdown and OCD battle.
