NBC announced newcomer Celina Smith as the lead in Annie Live! on Tuesday.
The 12-year-old talent rose to the top after a nationwide search for the perfect orphan Annie.
Talking about the iconic role in a statement, Smith said: 'It's an honor to follow in the footsteps of the talented young ladies who have played Annie before me. And I can’t wait to start this journey.'
