He welcomed his son Kasper with wife Dee Koppang 14 months ago.

And Dermot O'Leary has gushed that being a father is the 'best feeling in the world' and that his life 'has shifted' since his arrival.

The presenter, 48, - who is about to host this year's Soccer Aid - said that being up in Manchester for the project for three days is one of the longest periods of time he will have ever been away from his little one.

Talking to The Mirror he said: 'All the cliches are true, I mean like the love you feel and all of that. It's wonderful, it is the best feeling in the world and he is young enough for me not to go through massive worries yet. 

'I think you always want to be around as much as possible. I would struggle to take a gig for three away weeks now. But you would try to work around it. 

'My world has shifted now though. This has been the longest I've been away from him for a while. And that's fine, but if I'm at home. Then, we'll make sure that myself or Dee (his wife) are able to get up with him and have breakfast.'

He added that luckily the pair both work from home so they see a lot of him during the day and that he makes sure he finishes work at five for bath and play time.
