And it seems that Britney Spears, 39, may get her wish after all, as her boyfriend Sam Asghari, 27, was seen shopping for what looked to be an engagement ring on September 2.
Her personal trainer beau of five years was photographed looking at rings at Cartier in Beverly Hills and even snapped a photo of one that he particularly liked.

Asghari was seen peeking into a few glass cases at the luxury jewelry store while wearing a navy tracksuit and face mask.
After he appeared to spot something to his liking, a store associate was seen removing a diamond ring and placing it on top of a case for Sam to get a closer look.
Though the pair have expressed an interest in taking their relationship to 'the next step,' and have reportedly 'talked about' marriage, Sam has never formally proposed.
In a March Forbes interview, Asghari confessed: 'I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don't mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad.'

And Spears had cited marriage and starting a family with Sam as a big reason she wanted her ongoing conservatorship to end, claiming in June that under her father Jamie Spears' control she was 'not able' to do either.
'I would like to progressively move forward and I want to have the real deal, I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I was told right now in the conservatorship, I'm not able to get married or have a baby,' Spears said in her testimony, adding that she has an 'IUD' in so she doesn't get pregnant that she wanted to 'take out.'
Despite her statements — which were aimed at her father — Jamie's attorney's filed legal documents claiming that he had no involvement in her personal conservatorship since Jodi Montgomery had taken over in 2019 amid Jamie's health struggles.

His team claimed that any restrictions over Britney's personal matters were in Montgomery's hands.
After the legal filing, Montgomery's lawyer said that her desires for marriage and kids had 'never been impacted by the conservatorship while Jodi's been conservator of the person,' per TMZ.
'She has the right to marry and plan a family and a conservator cannot restrict her rights in these areas,' it was noted.
