Before Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings broke box office records over the Labor Day holiday weekend, there were many who thought the movie might be Marvel's first flop.
The movie ended up taking in a whopping $94.6 million over the four-day holiday weekend, destroying the previous Labor Day weekend record previously held by Rob Zombie'ss 2007 Halloween remake ($30.6 million).
The movie's star, Simu Liu, decided to have some fun with those fans who thought the movie would flop on his Instagram and Twitter over the long weekend, using one of his own stock photos.

The 32-year-old actor first took to Instagram on Monday afternoon, sharing a collage of headlines predicting Marvel would 'lose millions' or that it would be the MCU's worst box office opening ever, to name a few.
He slapped a big "LOL" over these images, in the midst of the movie's amazing success.
While the three-day total of $75.3 million is on the low side for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's still not the worst, with that distinction going to 2008's The Incredible Hulk ($55.4 million).
