Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Jay-Z's eldest child - Blue Ivy - became the youngest winner at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.

The nine-year-old New Yorker was credited as a songwriter and contributed vocals to the track Brown Skin Girl off the 40-year-old R&B diva's 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift.

The Brown Skin Girl music video won the Moon Man trophy for best cinematography - Benoit Soler, Malik H. Sayeed, Mohammaed Atta Ahmed, Santiago Gonzalez, and Ryan Helfant.

The regal celebration of black debutantes - which dropped a year ago - beat out the DPs for Billie Eilish, Foo Fighters, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Lorde.

However, Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) took home the Moon Man trophy for best R&B video for their track Leave the Door Open instead of Brown Skin Girl.

Carter's grandmother Tina Lawson - who's vacationing with Beyoncé and Jay-Z in Italy - was the first to publicly congratulate her via Instagram on Monday morning.

The MTV honor came six months after Blue, Knowles-Carter, Saint Jhn, and Wizkid
