It's been more than two years since some of the world's most high-profile people last graced the red carpet for the Met Gala in New York City.
Actress and television personality Whoopi Goldberg was among the stars who wasn't going to pass on the opportunity to attend the famed event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday.
And on this festive night The View co-host stepped out in a purple ruffled gown by Valentino, that had six layers that helped build its bell-shaped design.
