Paige Deville announced she has quit Gogglebox on Friday with a scathing tweet where she slammed the show's producers for giving her 'zero aftercare'.

The 24-year-old armchair critic has been on the show since 2019 alongside her mother Sally, who is yet to confirm whether she will continue to appear on the programme without her daughter.

'I have made the decision to walk away from Gogglebox It’s been an experience but one I cannot continue with due to long hours of filming, restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions & zero aftercare support,' Paige fumed online.

'But hey who cares about ex cast, they're NTA winners,' seethed the TV personality as she bid her final farewell to the show hours before its return to Channel 4.

A Gogglebox representative told the MailOnline: 'The welfare of contributors – past and present – is of paramount importance and robust protocols are in place to support contributors before, during and after taking part in the series.'

Paige's online rant refers to Gogglebox winning a National Television Award in the factual category at the industry event's star-studded ceremony last week.

The accolade came ahead of the show sweeping back onto screens for its 18th season this Friday - without many of its favourite cast members.

Paige's exit comes at a turbulent time for Gogglebox which has seen several of their TV experts leave whilst there has also been a number of sad bereavements.

Pete McGarry died in June, aged 71, after a short illness, and Andrew Michael, 61, and Mary Cook, 92, passed away in August.

And it has been confirmed that Pete's other half Linda, Andrew's wife Carolyne and children Louis and Alex, and Mary's friend Marina Wingrove won't be back on screens for the time being.
