Penn Badgley's murderous character Joe and his similarly homicidal wife Love have started a new life away from the big city in the new trailer for You season three.

In the video, which was released Friday, Joe has to confront his fears about raising a child while trying to reign in his deadly impulses.

'In my history of scared, this is the most scared I've ever been,' he thinks to himself just as his son Henry is born.

Rather than relief or love, his face only betrays pain and fear as he glimpses Love (Victoria Pedretti) cradling their newborn son, who's still covered in blood from the birth.

Even as he's seen settling into domestic life with his wife and child, Joe makes it clear in voiceover that he's obsessive tendencies have only been lying dormant.

'I've always believed in the one,' he says while readying Henry a bedtime story.

Although he at first seems to be addressing Love, it becomes clear he's actually speaking to baby Henry.

As he settles in with the baby at home, Love is seen opening up a bakery in their small town.

'We both have done bad things,' she tells her husband. 'I wanted to move here so that we could start anew.'
