It's been an emotional year for one of Australia's most popular actors, Hugh Sheridan.
In January, The Packed to the Rafters star, 36, who identifies as non-binary and goes by the pronouns they/them, got engaged to their fiancé Kurt Roberts.
At the time, they told The Daily Telegraph, they opted to propose to their partner after three months of dating as they'd found out their late father Denis Sheridan had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Big year: Hugh Sheridan has had an emotional year. Within 12 months the actor has experienced the loss of their father Denis (pictured) and got engaged to the love of their life Kurt Roberts
In May - two months after getting engaged - the actor and singer's father tragically passed away at age 76.
Despite experiencing so many highs and lows within one year, Hugh's Back To The Rafters co-star Angus McLaren said Hugh's spirit did not falter.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia this week, Angus said: 'He [they] really is a prime example of someone who is in control of their reactions. He [they] makes great things out of sometimes really hard situations.'
'He [They] is in an inspiration, it is a responsibility to make sure you bring a good vibe to those around you and he does that.'
