Denise Richards is getting ready to return to the big screen by signing on to the new family comedy movie The Junkyard Dogs.
The 50-year-old actress has come aboard the movie, which is being directed by Jacob Cooney (The Assault), according to Deadline.
The movie is slated for a day-and-date theatrical release through VMI Releasing in mid-2022, though it's unclear when production may begin.

The story follows a dog named Houdini, who is also a master escape artist and teams up with a group of neighborhood dogs to prevent their neighborhood from being robbed by a pair of dimwitted crooks.
Richards will portray Monica Sullivan, a single mother of two children who is very busy with her upcoming wedding.
She doesn't realize that her kids and their beloved dog are coming up with a plan to stop the thieves and prevent their neighborhood from delving into chaos.
