Role-of-a-lifetime: While presenting alongside Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber on Sunday night, the 88-year-old Broadway legend revealed she famously stepped on the same stage 'exactly 64 years ago' on opening night of West Side Story; seen in 1957
Upon greeting the three-time Tony Award recipient, Webber, 73, said when he was a 'little teenager' he 'always wondered' if he would meet her.
Taken aback by the sweet sentiment, she responded: 'I'm just so glad we're both not wheeled out. We walked, we actually walked!'
Rivera famously portrayed Anita, the girlfriend of Bernardo and a close friend and confidante to his sister Maria, in the acclaimed musical.
