SNL will return for a landmark 47th season with some of the biggest cast members sticking it out for another year with the longrunning sketch show.
Pete Davidson, Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon and Cecily Strong are among the headliners returning to Saturday Night Live for the new season, Deadline reported on Monday.
The outlet added that three new featured players would join the cast, however, Beck Bennett and Lauren Holt will depart the show.

Bennett has been a member of the cast since 2013 and has famously portrayed former Vice President Mike Pence on the series. Holt was a relative newcomer who only lasted one season as a featured player.

Following the conclusion of last season, questions arose about what would happen with the biggest names on SNL - Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon among them.

The series suffered its worst ratings and, according to Deadline, it's forced creator Lorne Michaels to 'become more flexible in recent years allowing some of these bigger names to combine Saturday Night Live with other projects.'
