Australian celebrity hairstylist Lyndell Mansfield, who worked with the likes of Paloma Faith and Beth Ditto of the rock band Gossip, has died.

She suffered a heart attack and brain aneurysm in London.

Mansfield had been diagnosed with Covid-19 last month, with some reports claiming she'd recovered from the virus before her death.

Mansfield's friend Thea Basiliou confirmed the news on Instagram, writing: 'I can't believe I'm writing this. It doesn't seem real. You've left us early. As always you're in a hurry to do something and as always, with a bang. 

'Our long friendship, unconditional. I love all the things we did together. So many amazing shows. We had so much fun. You are without a doubt the most incredible person I've ever known. So much energy, so much love and honesty.'

'A friend, mother, sister and co-creative and not just to me. You connected with and are loved by so many,' Basiliou added.
