Longtime stage and TV actress Cynthia Harris died in Greenwich Village, New York City on Sunday at the age of 87, it was shared on Wednesday.
The cause of death has not yet been revealed, her family announced on Legacy. 'Cynthia's passing is a great loss for the dramatic arts and for all of us,' it was added.
The actress is best known for playing Paul Reiser's mother Sylvia Buchman on the hit sitcom Mad About You which also starred Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt.
Cynthia also worked on the 2019 revival of the series.
And she was a fixture on 1970s TV shows such as Three's Company and Laverne & Shirley.
One of her more notable roles was as Duchess of Windsor Wallis Simpson in the 1979 miniseries Edward & Mrs. Simpson.
