Shane Lynch and his wife of 20 years Sheena have spoken out following their brief split last year.

The couple parted ways during the first lockdown, splitting in April before reconciling three months later.

Appearing on Monday's This Morning, Boyzone star Shane, 45, said: 'I think it’s a healthy thing to talk about, relationships, and how as a married couple, we have to work at being a couple.'

He continued: 'It’s not easy being married, it’s not easy raising children. We go through our tough times, but it’s really important to show we can come through the other side.'

Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Cheshire star Sheena, 41, added that 'a lot of people' had been through break-ups during lockdown, insisting: 'It’s great to let people know it’s happened and you can get through it.'

Shane - who was previously married to Eternal lead singer Eather Bennett - tied the knot with Sheena in an intimate ceremony in 2007.

Their wedding took place just eight months after he appeared on ITV's Celebrity Love Island, which he left early after realising Sheena was his 'one true love'.

The couple share children Billie Rae, 12, and Marley Mae, eight.

In April, Shane revealed that he had moved out of the family home he shared with his wife and their two daughters, after being 'at each other's throats' during the nationwide coronavirus lockdown.

Singer Shane admitted that 'you find out things about relationships' while cooped up together, and voiced his hope that their split is just temporary, but conceded that he 'doesn't know God's plan.'
