Elle Fanning has been pictured on the set of her upcoming true crime series The Girl From Plainville on Georgia's Tybee Island for the first time.

The 23-year-old actress was seen outdoors as she and her costar Colton Ryan, 26, rode bikes around the island town for a scene.

Elle stars in the Hulu series as Michelle Carter, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2017 for urging her boyfriend to kill himself in text messages in 2014.

In photos from the set, Elle can be seen taking a relaxing cruise on a white bike with a basket while wearing a plunging pink spaghetti strap dress that was ruched around the bust and decorated with colorful floral designs.

She had a matching floral halter bikini top on underneath and a set of simple brown flip flops.

The Great star completed her costume with some vibrant beaded bracelets on one wrist, and she wore her long hair swept back.

Elle usually sports lighter locks, but she had them darkened to a strawberry blond to better approximate Carter's look.

Although she already bore a striking resemblance to the convicted criminal, the Somewhere star had also darkened her eyebrows to match Carter's recognizable visage.

In addition to starring as Carter, Elle is also a producer on her new series.

Also joining Elle on set was her costar Colton, who plays Carter's boyfriend Conrad Henri Roy III.

The actor complemented his costar's summery attire with a teal T-shirt and jean shorts, as well as red trainers.

He was seen riding just behind Elle, and later she was seen getting a big laugh out of him while they chatted after she dismounted.

Colton plays Conrad Henri Roy III, a Massachusetts-born 18-year-old who died by suicide on July 13, 2014.

Although he and Carter lived just over 30 miles apart near Boston, the two met while both were visiting Florida in 2012.

The two carried on a relationship via text from that point on despite rarely seeing each other, even though they lived within an hour's drive.

Although Carter referred to herself as Roy's girlfriend, he didn't use that terminology and only referred to her as a friend.
