Verdict: Offbeat rom-com for the end of days

Fret not, Canadian writer Jordan Hall's thoughtful rom-com isn't another Covid story — despite its prescient portrayal of stockpiling and jam-making as legitimate hobbies.

Written in 2016, it follows the relationship of twentysomething editor Jen and her husband Tim, a video game designer. 

Macho survivalist Bruce has been called in to save Jen's failing magazine, and believes its future lies in preparing millennials for society's destruction, forcing her to prove that she could survive the end of days.
