Ellie Goulding nailed gothic chic as she stormed the stage at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth during her Brightest Blue Tour on Friday.

The singer, 34, who welcomed son Arthur in May, looked nothing short of sensational as she strutted her stuff in a casual black sweatshirt, which she teamed up with a ruffled mesh skirt.

Ellie wore her luscious blonde locks in a middle parting and added inches to her frame with a pair of glossy onyx boots.

The On My Mind hitmaker appeared to be having a blast as she belted out her chart-topping tracks to an audience of thousands.

Proving herself to be quick the rock chic, she showcased her skills while playing an impressive electric guitar later in the show. 

Ellie has returned to the music scenes after she welcomed her first child - a boy named Arthur - in April with her husband Caspar Jopling.  

Talking to Tatler recently, Ellie discussed how she didn't tell her family and friends about her pregnancy until late on.

She said: 'Most of my friends and family were shocked. It wasn't on the cards, but it wasn't off the cards either – we'd had such a wonderful first year of marriage. I didn't tell anyone but then I got to a point when I was ready for people to know.'

On motherhood she added: 'There's a huge sense of camaraderie among new mums, not only dealing with being pregnant, but then breast-feeding, and just figuring it all out.

'It seems like motherhood is a time when you can never say too much about what's going on, and I'm grateful for that.'

The songstress also discussed meeting her now husband Caspar at a friend's dinner party in New York in 2018
