Speaking of her character on Shonda Rhimes' historical romance series, the 26-year-old star described Kate as 'really witty' during her interview for ELLE's Young Hollywood issue.

While quipping she is 'not really like that' in real life, Ashley went on to say Kate is an 'independent, competitive rule breaker, who comes across as quite strong and brave and has that fighting exterior, but she is also incredibly vulnerable.'
The English actress also noted she and her on-screen lover, Jonathan Bailey, who plays Anthony Bridgerton, have 'really, really great chemistry.'
Ashley also teased that her character 'really puts her family first' but 'when the stakes of love come with family as well—it's very different.'

In addition to Ashley, the fashion magazine profiled Demi Singleton and Saniyya Sidney, who play the younger versions of tennis icons Venus and Serena Williams in Will Smith's new biopic, King Richard.
'Every time you were with him, it was just jokes upon jokes,' Singleton, 14, said. 'You'd laugh until you almost wet yourself.'
Meanwhile, Sidney, also 14, talked about the grueling tennis practices, which left her 'sore and in pain.'

'There were times when it was hard, and I cried,' she admitted. 'But it was definitely fora great reason.'
Both of the teenagers carefully studied videos of the Williams sisters' to portray them as best they could.
