Sir Paul McCartney put on a cosy display as he posed with wife Nancy Shevell at the Robin Hood Benefit at the Jacob Javits Center in New York on Wednesday night.

The former Beatle, 79, could be standing with his arms around businesswoman Nancy, 61, at the venue.

He wore a smart navy blue suit and crisp white shirt with a floral tie while Nancy looked chic in a black dress with a zip to the front.

American-native Nancy's dress finished just above the knee and she wore a pair of black high-heeled shoes in the same colour as her dress to add a few inches to her stature.

She could be seen proudly standing next to her musician beau with her hand on his shoulder.

Sir Paul made a special appearance at the event which was held by New York's largest poverty-fighting organisation.
