The Project hosts couldn't help but laugh off the intense level of concern U.S political commentator Candace Owens had for Australians over lockdown restrictions.
On Friday, co-host Susie Youssef thanked the conservative Daily Wire presenter for expressing her grave concerns about Australia's lockdown laws.
Earlier in the week, Candace described the restrictions as 'federal overreach. Tyranny. Totalitarianism. The kind that gives birth to dictatorships.'
Comments: On Friday, The Project hosts mocked U.S political commentator Candace Owens (pictured) over her impassioned plea for America to 'invade Australia'
The rules she is outraged include QR code scanning and 'no dancing' - with the hosts joking that she'd mixed Australia up with the plot of the film Footloose.
Candace asked viewers of her show: 'When do we invade Australia and free an oppressed people who are suffering under a totalitarian regime?'
Toward the end of the segment host Lisa Wilkinson admitted she 'didn't hear a lot of' what Candace said because she was 'mesmerised' by her puffy sleeves and the set of the clip, which resembled American Idol.
Susie laughed: 'If you find the keys and sneak on late at night you can make a show for yourself.'
