Ben Fordham has farewelled his cousin's son, Luca, who died at age five after suffering a stroke.
The 2GB host shared photos and footage from the ceremony, which was held on what would have been the tot's sixth birthday.
The 44-year-old's post showed a group of nurses and family letting balloons go into the sky, and he thanked medical staff for their support.

'Today we said goodbye to our little mate Luca on his 6th birthday,' he wrote in the caption.
'It was a heartbreaking day for my beautiful cousin @toriandluca and for all of his family and friends.
'These ladies in the funny shirts are nurses from the hospital. They loved Luca - so they came along to help celebrate his life.
