Coleen Rooney paid heartbreaking tribute to her sister Rosie on Tuesday, as she prepares to mark the nine year anniversary since she tragically died.

Rosie passed away in 2013 following her lifelong battle with Rett syndrome, a rare brain disorder that causes severe disabilities. 

On Tuesday, in a touching  picture posted on Instagram, the star, 35, was seen gazing at Rosie on her wedding day to husband Wayne in 2008.

Tens of thousands of fans rushed to send supportive messages to Coleen who has previously described her late sister as 'an inspiration. Coleen captioned the snap with a heart and angel emoji.

Rosie bravely fought a lifelong battle with Rett syndrome – a rare brain disorder that affects physical movement and can bring about many different symptoms in each individual case.

Both friends and fans commented on the snap, telling the star: 'Beautiful girl. Sending you love and prayers.'
