His profile is set to soar with a role in Marvel's upcoming film, Eternals. 

And Kumail Nanjiani, 43, who is best known for his role as Dinesh in the HBO series Silicon Valley, admitted on Thursday's episode of Loose Women to feeling a 'little scared' to meet co-star Angelina Jolie on set.  

The Pakistani-American actor also revealed how he kept the job 'a secret' for a year before shooting, only telling his wife Emily V. Gordon as no one would 'believe' him.

Kumail revealed on air how he's always been a 'huge fan' of co-stars Gemma Chan and Richard Madden, but found the idea of meeting Angelina, 46, a little daunting.

'I was a little scared to meet Angelina Jolie. I found out a year before I started shooting, so I had to keep this secret for a year,' he said. 

Kumail added that he only told wife Emily of the blockbuster role as he felt no-one else would believe him.

'It was easy because my wife believed me but no-one else would, and I kind of liked having this secret to myself,' he said.

Kumail plays Kingo, one of the title characters in this highly-anticipated Marvel Studios adventure, arriving in theatres on November 5.   

Eternals is based on the fictional race of humanoids of the same name which appears in the American comic books.

The film sees the Eternals, an immortal alien race, come out of hiding for thousands of years to protect Earth from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.

Also starring in the film is Marvel Cinematic Universe's first openly gay superhero (Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos) who shares the franchise's first onscreen same-sex kiss with Haaz Sleiman, who plays his husband.  

While filming wrapped in February 2020 after a six-month shoot, Kumail has since maintained his newfound muscles and overall ripped physique.

'I'll tell you, man, it's very easy to get obsessed with that number on the scale,' he admitted to Vulture this month.
